Malmö, Sweden - 20th Dec, 2011: outside is cold, but inside, our keyboards are hot as fire as we are putting together the final pieces of what will be Youtify v11. This release is big. Mainly it brings 3 new features: 1) a completely revamped theme 2) an online translation tool and 3) support for the Flattr microdonation service.
More importantly, this release sets the direction of where we want to go as a project. Youtify is now more than a music player. It is a music project that thinks a little different when it comes to the music industry and the way artists should get paid.
We are very proud to be the first music player with integrated support for Flattr microdonations. Flattr is a super easy way to support artists that you like. Basically, you create an account on https://flattr.com/ and fill it with as much money as you would like to donate each month. Now, when you find a video that you like on Youtify, you click the Flattr button. At the end of the month, the money will be split depending on the number of clicks you made. So for example, if you chose to donate €10 each month and clicked 5 buttons, each click will be worth €2.
If you are reading this and thinking "wow, Youtify is so cool, I wish I could help out in some way but I'm not a super ninja coder like Per and Kalle" then we have something perfect for you: Youtify v11 ships with an online translation tool. So if you want to see Youtify in your native tongue, then helping out with translations is something we are extremely thankful for. Send an email to per@youtify.com if you are interested!

What accounts are the Flattr payments sent to? The Youtube uploader?
SvaraRaderaMelpomene: you get the option to flattr either the video, the uploader or the artist twitter account (or all of them) if they are registered at Flattr. As is standard on Flattr, the user who registered the URL receives the money.
